Acupuncture

Acupuncture channels

Acupuncture has been practised and perfected for thousands of years. It comprises hundreds of points each with specific functions, which are mostly found as part of the main 12 energy channels. Chinese Medicine Bristol offers Acupuncture based on the diagnostic and treatment principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

According to TCM theory, the impaired flow Qi (or life energy) through the channels results in symptoms of disease. By inserting very thin, disposable needles in specific points, Acupuncture aims to restore the flow of Qi to produce an improvement in symptoms. Through a complex theory of relationships between the organs, the mind, and emotions Acupuncture understands the person as a whole and can be used to treat physical, mental, and emotional symptoms.

Ear acupuncture chart

Ear Acupuncture is a specialised type of acupuncture that uses points found in the ear which correspond to different areas of the body. This therapy is widely used as treatment for substance abuse, but it is extremely effective as adjunctive therapy to body acupuncture.
